Baa Baa Black Sheep – Nursery Rhyme

This is a nursery rhyme I had totally forgotten about. It amazingly came right back to me though. I think it was inprinted somewhere in the back of my mind.

My 2yo just loves it. Every day he demands ‘baa baa black eep’ to be sung many times over.  One thing is for sure – I will never be allowed to forget it again!

Baa Baa Black sheep is sung to a similar tune to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Alphabet Song. Like many nursery rhymes, it’s origins are unclear. The British wool tax of 1275 seems to be a contender though.

Baa baa black sheep words

Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full;
One for the master,
And one for the dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.
