I wish I could remember being a toddler, they seem to have the most wonderful view on life, everything is new and magical. OK yes, they can be a nightmare too... Whichever mood yours is in... read on.
When I first saw this I found it so funny. Every parent I show it to finds it funny.
The toddler rules of possession
- If I like it – it’s mine.
- If it’s in my hand – it’s mine.
- If I can take it from you – it’s mine.
- If I had it a little while ago – it’s mine.
- If it’s mine, it must never appear to be yours in ANY way.
- If I am doing or building something ALL the pieces are mine.
- If it looks just like mine it is mine.
- If I saw it first – it’s mine.
- If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
- If it’s broken, it’s yours.
- If it’s broken, but you are having fun playing with the pieces, it’s mine again.
- If there is ANY doubt, it’s mine.
(Kevin McHugh)
